It is from Chris' respect of his country roots that will bring about the performance you are about to encounter. There is a feeling that begins to take hold when watching Chris perform. Chris Gougler has developed his talents to a point where he has a sound and style that is truly his own.
Chris Gougler was born in Houston, Texas, raised on the South Plains of Lubbock and attended his high school years in Lago Vista, 30 miles NW of Austin, the live music capital of the world. During his high school years Chris Gougler won several local and statewide talent contests. He was a finalist in the Lonestar 93.3 Statewide Talent Search. Since then Chris Gougler has had the chance to record a demo with David Chamberlain, a well known songwriter who wrote songs for George Strait including "Am I Blue" and "What’s Going on in Your World."
Chris Gougler attended college in Oklahoma to study music on a baseball scholarship. After just a year of school Chris decided to move back home and focus on his music full time. He started going to shows and venues and making himself known. He began getting advice from Pat Green, Walt Wilkins, and other singer/songwriters in the Texas Country Music scene. He began playing acoustic shows and got the chance to perform at the first annual Texas Music awards. In 2006, the Chris Gougler Band was formed. He has played all over Texas, Oklahoma and California. He has shared the stage with Randy Rogers Band, Drew Womack, and Jason Boland and the Stragglers.
